Check out this hilarious video from viral site Everything is Terrible! We love it for two reasons: 1) reminding us why 90’s fashion shouldn’t come back; and 2) making us cringe from embarassment…over the internet.
Like The New Yorker, NPR is one of those things that you tell people you like in order to impress them and make them think you’re smarter than you really are. While I do occasionally listen to NPR, it’s typically because I accidentally hit the wrong buttons when trying to flip between KIIS FM and AMP Radio. On top of that, I’m not going to lie to you…I only have it programmed in my car so that anyone else who rides in it will think I have more brain cells than the minimum needed to analyze the lyrics of “Ridin’ Solo” (no offense to Jason Derulo- it’s really catchy!). The main reason I have a hard time listening to NPR? It’s not the stories (which are fairly interesting), but the way they are delivered. Dull and montone – they are almost enough to put me to sleep…on a Thursday afternoon…on the 405.
So, when I first watched this video put together by NPR’s team, I was shocked. Sure, the dancing is off, and the movement is horribly, horribly uncomfortable and awkward – but it made me want to tune in and give the station a second chance. Maybe they should start playing GaGa in between stories about the secret ways to order a Big Mac and the undoubtedly-crazy history of Yoga.
You’ve probably seen this video, but if you haven’t it’s worth checking out. Whether you love or hate Lady GaGa – this Justin Bieber-lookalike’s performance of “Paparazzi” is incredible. You’ll be able to see it again live tomorrow on The Ellen DeGeneres Show where he’ll be performing it for the host (and Lady GaGa fan).
But it is. For some reason, random accidents happening to people who least expect them make for amazing Youtube videos. This one’s no different. In a somewhat related personal note – I bought an Espresso maker last weekend, but am now a little scared of it. So, if you’re in the market for a home coffee maker, you know where to reach me.
For anyone who’s ever driven down little Santa Monica Blvd in Beverly Hills and questioned this city’s mental health when seeing the huge line constantly outside of Sprinkles, we’ve found the perfect video for you.
Now, if only I could mount that to my car, I could introduce the Beverly Hills population to a problem that residents in other parts of this city have worried about for a long time…drive-by shootings.
There’s probably nothing more annoying in today’s world than the words “buffering,” “loading,” or “wait time.” But with that said, is internet faster than the speed of sound (or light) really that necessary? There’s something to be said for living in a culture in which we celebrate the fact that we will now be able to waste time faster even faster.
Somewhere, the makers of Adderall are rejoicing. If we thought America’s ADD was bad before, I can’t even tell you what it will be like now.
You may remember OK Go from their music video for “Here It Goes Again,” which helped launch the era of “the Youtube music video.” Well, they’re back at it again with some new viral masterpieces. While the original video of their song “This Too Shall Pass” is incredible in its own right, check out the video beneath it by parody group The Station. Unless my upbringing was even more sheltered than I thought, everyone should be able to relate.
Here’s a brand that gets social media today – Dr. Pepper uses chat roulette in its a viral video made for April Fools Day… with some hilarious results.
Check out this elementary school’s play rendition of Scarface that has been making the rounds online for the past week. There’s been quite an outrage over the appropriateness of 7-year-olds snorting coke (popcorn) and ratting off profanities (“fudge,” “s.o.b.”). Spoiler after the jump.
