Stop Telephonin’ Me

If you have a Blackberry, then you’ve probably been exposed to the yesterday and today’s fun new spam/virus/chain. I guess email is too old fashioned for internet tomfoolery these days, as this newest strain is being spread through BBM (Blackberry Messenger for those of you living in 2007 or with an iPhone). Unlike old email chains of days long ago (send this to 10 people or you’ll die!), it lacks the creativity and passion. Instead, it tries to be all professional and whatnot. Check it out below:

This message is to inform all of our users, that our servers have recently been really full, so we are asking for your help to fix this problem. We need our active users to re-send this message to everyone on your contact list inorder to confirm our active users that use BlackBerry Messenger, if you do not send this message to all your BlackBerry Messenger contacts then your account will remain inactive with the consequence of losing all your contacts.

Yeah, that’s it. No threats of death or being cursed in love for the rest of your life. Just losing your contacts. I guess in today’s world, not being plugged in may be a fate worse than death.
