Here’s an “only in LA” story for you. The medical staff at the Olive View-UCLA Medical Center were bringing in beauticians to do their nails in the neonatal intensive care unit, among the infants in critical condition. Some reports say that hot wax warmers were brought in, in addition to other salon products. Which sounds totally safe. In a unit in which adults’ mere breathing can be detrimental to these unstable infants, what could a little hot wax and nail polish remover do?
Oh yeah, and if you were wondering if that picture of that egg baby was supposed to make you feel bad… you’re damn right it was.
