S. Pellegrino recently released its annual list of the world’s 50 best restaurants. While LA didn’t make it on the list, at least California got one mention. The single Golden State entry on the list? Thomas Keller’s French Laundry in Yountville. French Laundry has long been recognized as on the best restaurants in the state and in the nation, and it makes sense that it would be included on this list.
New York got several mentions on the list, but the real shocker? Chicago’s Alinea coming in at number 7 on the list. Who knew the windy city is no blow over when it comes to food?
So, the next time Mozza or Cecconi’s try to turn you away, claiming they have no room to put you on the list, just remind them that also they didn’t seem to make it on the list either.
