Turn Your Weekend Into a Festival

Before settling into the normal laziness of the weekend, be sure to check out the LA Times Festival of Books, taking place this weekend only on UCLA’s campus in Westwood. Forget paparazzi or the glitterati, this annual event is a mecca for the nation’s literati – authors, publishers, journalists, and average everyday readers.

In addition to booths to showcase different publishers’ newest releases, the fair also offers a wide array of panels – some of the best ones taking place today include:

Fact vs. Fiction: Storytelling in Young Adult Nonfiction – 10:30AM
PANEL CODE: 1061

Young Adult Fiction: ‘Tween the Lines – 12:30PM
PANEL CODE: 1102

Dave Eggers in Conversation with David L. Ulin – 1:30PM
PANEL CODE: 1073

Memoir: All the Single Ladies – 3:00PM
PANEL CODE: 1114

I can only wonder how “Fact vs. Fiction: Storytelling in Young Adult Nonfiction” will try to bridge the gap between nonfiction and Twilight or Gossip Girl.
