Some of LA’s best restaurants are modelled after the tried-and-true standards of other cities. Rush Street is no exception – with its Chicago vibe and namesake. With a menu consisting of burgers, pizza, and salads – Rush Street doesn’t sway far from its bar food roots, but it does add some sophistication to the whole affair with a refined drink list and a wide variety of shared appetizers. The vibe is refreshingly laid back, but classy enough to not feel like you’re eating at a dive bar. Some of the menu’s best items include the sweet potato fries, the falafel & tahini sliders, and the ahi burger. If you’re going to try only one drink, make it the “perfect margarita” – it’s worth the price tag. After dinner, you can stick around, as the bar scene evolves over the course of the night and becomes increasingly more rowdy as more and more drinks are consumed. If you’re in for a quieter night, take a stroll around downtown Culver City, and pop into the nearby Culver Hotel for a nightcap or any of the other local dessert shops for a sweet treat. One of Rush Street’s best features is its Happy Hour menu – Monday to Friday from 3:00PM to 7:00PM. Premium drinks & draft beers will cost you $5, bottled beer $4 and wine and well drinks only $3. What a rush, indeed. Rush Street is located at 9546 Washington Blvd in Culver City. Reservations can be made at 310.837.9546.
