Located in the heart of the Beverly Hills triangle, Villa Blanca embodies everything you think Beverly Hills would be. Fake, superficial, gaudy – all of these words are fitting adjectives. When you check out the other diners eating nearby, you’ll understand that this was done on purpose – to entice tourists and old-time Beverly Hills residents longing for the days before their celebrities and tasteful inhabitants left for Brentwood and Pacific Palisades. The food is fine – nothing spectacular, but also not terrible. But, that’s not the real attraction here. On a typical Saturday night, expect botox-infested barbies, Christian Audigier-bedazzled guidos, and waiters whose sleeves are rolled so tight the circulation prevents them from thinking – but lets them show off that they are in shape. The decor doesn’t help the place get over its air of superficiality – as tasteful as over-the-top gold and white trim, logo-embossed pillows, and oversized flowers are. The only real reason to venture into Villa Blanca is its soon-to-be place in pop culture history. Its owner, Lisa Vanderpump-Todd (that’s a real name), will be featured on the upcoming season of Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. I can only imagine how “real” that season is going to be…
Villa Blanca is located in Beverly Hills at 9601 Brighton Way. Reservations can be made at 310.859.7600.
