Although it’s been around for a few years and has weathered some turbulence, David Myers’ Comme Ca is still packing in crowds nightly. The French brasserie, on the corner of La Cienega and Melrose, has several great things working for it. Among with one of the most central locations in Los Angeles, the restaurant benefits from an amazing drink menu and some of the best French comfort food around.
While I’m not a fan, the restaurant’s cheeseburger is regarded by Jonathan Gold as one of the 99 things to eat in LA before you die. Pretty much everything on the menu is a must – but make sure you keep room for dessert. If you follow the restautant on Twitter, then you’re well aware of one of LA’s best kept secrets: Comme Ca has a $20 prix fixe lunch menu.
As I’ve said, Comme Ca has been around but is still very busy. Perhaps it’s a mixture of its simplicity, food that keeps people coming back, or drinks that make you think everyone is right in the world – this place is a real winner.
Comme Ca is located in West Hollywood at 8479 Melrose Ave. Reservations can be made at (323) 782-1104.
